TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching full time for 10 years now. Two of those years were with 3rd and 4th, but I've had my 5th grade home for eight years. I was moved to Jr. High these last 4 years, and that's when 6th grade was shuffled into my mix. It is also when I narrowed my classes down to ELA.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I adjust my style every year. There is so much change in teaching that staying with the same style is suicide. I love having the kids teach each other, and I love interaction. I try to only lecture for about 10-15 min of the class period.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received excellent qualifications according to my evaluations set by my superintendent. I am a one of the Teacher Leader Cadres in our school as well.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended and graduated from Collinsville High School. Then from there I achieved a soccer scholarship to McKendree College. I received my Bachelor Degree in Education in 2002. I went on to pursue my middle school endorsement that very next summer. Grade levels on my certificate to up to 9th grade.
