After teaching all subject areas for several years, focusing in middle grades math and science, I moved into an instructional coach role for four years at a K-8 school. I have coached teachers in all areas and also evaluate teachers according to the Danielson Framework for Teaching. I take this framework into account along with student achievement in everything I create! As a coach and evaluator, I know what makes lessons highly effective.
BALANCE. I love to utilize various best practices to create a perfect balance for my students. Most of my lessons included time for direct instruction, time for inquiry, and time for student collaboration. The balance of utilizing various instructional strategies from problem-based learning to project-based learning allowed me to generate assessment of student learning in multiple ways throughout a lesson.
