There are many different types of learners in the classroom today. Students prefer certain teaching strategies, instruction, and activities and the teacher is responsible for knowing their students and classes in order to provide the most enriched curriculum to all students. Personally, I use many types of teaching strategies in order to provide all learners with the best opportunity to learn. I integrate technology such as PowerPoint, vivid imagery and video, the internet, and other aspects of technology to help relate to the student. In addition to this, during the lesson I make sure to check for understanding by using a variety of questioning techniques which determine how well the class is understanding the lesson. When teaching a lesson and there are words that I feel like students might not understand I use a "step aside" vocabulary teaching moment in which the class will make sure we know the meaning and context of the word. For high achieving students, there is always a way to take the assignment to the next level without necessarily giving them more work. Thinking through things at a different level and expanding your mind and the concept allows students to think critically about the subject. Re-teaching is also a way to adapt instruction to those who are falling behind. The teacher needs to know at all times where their students stand. Lastly, using interactive activities that invite students to get out of their desks, explore, and interact with each other provide ways for all learning needs to understand the lesson.
