TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught the following courses: 8th grade English Language Arts and 8th grade reading intervention; 7th grade English Language Arts 7th grade reading intervention; 6th grade English Language Arts and 6th grade reading intervention. I have used the Summit Learning curriculum, HMH Intro to Literature, Reading Plus, HMH Read 180, and I have written my own curriculum.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love incorporating high interest content into my lessons! If I can tie a standard to Star Wars, Stranger Things, or Shrek, I absolutely will. Watching students connect with my content brings me joy.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2021, I was nominated as the Educator of the Year for my district. I have served as the Powerful Literacy Lead for my school in 2021-2022. That same year, I was the district representative for Read 180. Currently, I'm also the department chairperson for ELA, and I am my building's CER expert. My strategies have been implemented schoolwide.
