I graduated from Texas A and M University with a degree in elementary education in 2016. I've taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Texas after graduating college. I also previously worked in child care for a total of about 5 years, and I feel that I have a vast knowledge of young children. I started working at a child care center when I was 16 years old as my first job. This was where I fell in love with working with kids! During college, I worked in the kid zone at a locally owned and operated gym in College Station, TX.
I believe that every child brings something unique to the classroom dynamic and the world as a whole. It is my goal to help children discover their potential through motivating them and believing in them at all times. I believe that the purpose of schooling students should be to prepare them for life outside of school and for higher education. A teacher’s role is to provide students with access to information by giving students the chance to practice skills in authentic, meaningful and realistic scenarios. Teachers should utilize hands-on activities and allow plenty of time to reinforce the knowledge that is being learned.
