Paula's Projects

I started my teaching career teaching 4th grade for a year. Then, I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for a private school with an accelerated academic program for 6 years. I moved closer to home and taught 1st grade for two years in a small community, then I moved up to second grade. I have taught second grade for the rest of my career. I am starting my 23rd year of teaching.

I like to integrate subjects when I teach. I especially like to add art and science into my language arts lessons. Since I love to eat, I also like to find ways to introduce food and cultures to what we are learning about.

My dad was in the military, so I attended three Universities before I received my Bachelor's Degree. I went to Norwich University in Vermont for my first year. I attended Cameron University in Oklahoma for 2 years. I graduated from New Orleans University in Education with a minor in Reading and Language Arts. I have a Reading Endorsement, an ESL Endorsement, and a Math Endorsement through Brigham Young University. I have a Master's Degree in Education from Southern University of Utah.

I was introduced to photography by my husband and LOVE it! I enjoy sharing pictures of flowers and animals in nature.
