Let's see... I'm 38, so I've been teaching for 35 years! My students have changed a bit... from teddy bears and stuffed bunnies to real, live, humans... but I've been a teacher all along! Born into a family of educators, I have had the privilege of being in the classroom environment for as far back as I can remember. After starting my "official" teaching career at a public middle school in 2004, I transitioned to SAHM/homeschool mom in 2007. In 2010 I returned to the classroom and in the summer of 2018 I decided it would be fun to teach abroad! I currently live in China with my family where I teach high school biology. My teaching career has been an exciting whirlwind!
I'm a little nutty, full of passion, and brimming with enthusiasm. I strive to engage my students daily and create meaningful, real-world connections within my classroom. I believe whole-heartedly that active learning yields long-lasting results and fosters a sense of curiosity in a child's heart and mind.
Students tell me I'm the funniest teacher they've ever had. Does that count?

Albert Einstein is my hero. Yes, he was a genius. His contributions to academia are awe inspiring. But I admire Einstein even more for his incredible character, kind spirit, and joyful wit. I ponder my favorite quote often and allow Einstein to inspire me to be the best version of myself that I can, and to use each day to strive to bless those in my life. Einstein said, "Only a life lived for others is a life worth living." I agree.
