I have taught early childhood special education for almost 10 years. My current classroom consist of 4 year olds with a variety of disabilities from autism to developmental delays. Prior to teaching early childhood I worked with severe and profound children and adults.
I use a variety of hands on materials and lessons but since I have a smart board in my classroom I use it in all whole group lessons from circle times to language and math activities.
I was named Teacher of the Year in my school in 2011
I received my bachelors degree in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters degree in early childhood unified (general education and special education) from the University of Kansas.
