I am a Literacy Specialist at a public school in the Hall of Fame City! I provide Tier 3 supports for students in grades K-4 and also serve as the Literacy Coach for my building. I am certified in P-3 Early Childhood Education, have a Reading Endorsement in grades K-12, and Master's Degree in Education with a concentration in Leadership. I have been trained in Orton-Gillingham (30 hour comprehensive course), Fundations Levels K-2, LETRS, and Wilson. I am currently a Local LETRS Facilitator for my district.
My teaching style is rooted in multi-sensory practices, engaging students through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning experiences. Backed by rigorous research in the science of reading, I ensure that every lesson is designed to meet the diverse needs of all my students. Following a structured literacy approach, I provide systematic and explicit instruction in phonics, phonemic awareness, morphology, syntax, and semantics. I believe in a hands-on approach, actively involving students in their learning journey. Through continuous assessment and corrective feedback, I empower students to overcome challenges and unlock their full potential.
