I have been a teacher since 2006, when I was assigned to a military instillation in Seoul, South Korea. Since then, I have taught internationally and nationally in a range of grade levels and subjects. By teaching kindergarten through high school, I have honed in on my true love for middle school! The content that you will find on my page mainly relates to my two favorite subjects-- science and language arts.

Through the challenges of distance learning during the pandemic, I have acquired a lot of valuable skills in creating content that is more digitally-friendly. Teachers are always adapting to new situations, and so does my curriculum. I usually teach with an interactive notebook so that students are more in charge of their learning and their creativity can flourish. I will be moving to a digital notebook platform this fall and will be creating content to match a virtual and in-person learning environment.

I have had the HONOR of teaching abroad (South Korea, Japan, Germany and Italy) and in several states here in the U.S. (Iowa, Colorado, and Florida).

I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in English and Secondary Education. I also took Early Childhood Education classes at the University of Northern Iowa.
