TEACHING EXPERIENCE

15 years teaching all levels of French including AP in high school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach all classes strictly in French - even French I. Students quickly expect you to only speak French and think it is weird if you do have to make a rare statement in English (of in French Club). It is a lot easier to stick with the target language than going back and forth and ends up being much easier. The first day of school is great because the students in French I are surprised they can learn without hearing any English. French II is excited because they can understand you.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Recent past-president Arizona chapter of AATF.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Master's degree in French from Arizona State University, Bachelor's degree in French from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Studied abroad in Avignon France for two years as an undergrad.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have a home in Provence, which I visit twice a year.
