TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught for 11 and 1/2 years as a mod/severe Education Specialist. I teach a TK-5th grade, moderate to severe special day class. I have worked with a wide range of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, learning disabilities, Orthopedic Impairment and more. I teach a Special Day Class or Self-Contained, but support inclusion and my students in the general education environment as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that every student can learn and grow. I work to develop meaningful and individualized curriculum for my students. I use positive reinforcement to encourage and reinforce positive behaviors. I believe IEPs are a team and collaborate closely with general educators, related services and of course parents.
