I worked for one year as an ESL teacher for Grades K - 5. I also worked as a reading interventionist for grades 1 - 5. As a third grade teacher, I am tackling a new curriculum based on the Common Core Standards. I have an incredible passion for math and reading education.
I often refer to my class as "organized chaos." If you step into my classroom you will often see student working collaboratively to complete a task. You will see students creating projects or experiments allowing for hands on learning and experiences. I create my own assessment materials to gauge students understanding and determine whether reteaching or enrichment is necessary. My classroom is a place where students can grow and fail but no matter the situation they feel successful.
