I've taught for over thirty years in elementary grades. My first ten years was first through third. I obtained my masters in ESL Education from TCU and became the ESL Specialist at our school. I was later Instructional Specialist for five years and taught RTI intervention. My experience in helping students who speak another language and RTI Interventionist has lead me on a journey to make products for children. I have joined my love for photography to teach concepts students will enjoy and learn.
I believe in making connections with students so they have meaningful experiences to increase schema and view of the world. I combined my love of photography to teach children through the power of a photograph. I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel all over the world and love to share the beauty of each place with students. Many of my products about other countries come from our travels as a family. I believe each child has the ability to learn and grow. I have added critical thinking questions in my products because the power of a question stimulates reasoning skills students can carry with them as they grow as a learner. The integration of science, technology, engineering. mathematics and social studies allows children to see connections so they can apply concepts with a deeper understanding.
