I started my teaching career on the island of Guam where I was born and raised. After teaching first grade for three and a half years on the island, I followed my husband to Tampa, Florida where I taught Kindergarten for one year. We made our way to Cleveland, Ohio and then finally settled here in Houston, Texas where I have been teaching for ten plus years.
I believe in building relationships with my students and building a strong classroom community. Lots of hands-on, cooperative learning. I love using literature to teach or reinforce concepts across all subject areas.
Teacher of the Year
I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The University of Guam. I am Reading Recovery and Literacy Collaborative trained.
This island girl loves crafting, baking and decorating sugar cookies. Family is so important to me which is why I try to make my way home every summer.
