I'm a middle and high school literacy coach. I've taught 1st-8th grades in public, private, and charter schools over the past 15 years. I've worked as a building level principal, pre-service teacher supervisor, and a dean of academics. I'm trained in Orton Gillingham, Add+Vantage Math, and have a soft spot for all things data-related. Specialties: Literacy, social-emotional regulation, intrinsically-motivating assignments, action-research, non-behavioral classroom management, writing process
As a principal and literacy coach, I channel my energy into supporting teachers in any way possible, whether it is through simplifying parent communication, organizing schedules, creating the resources my teachers most need, or planning treats and breaks whenever I can pull it off. We all need support, especially this year! As a teacher, I work hard to create lessons that give students voice and allow them space to engage, inquire, construct, and create. As an Orton Gillingham tutor, I build materials that are flexible for inevitable switches between virtual and in-person learning and customizable to the individual student.
