Sunshine and Rainbows in Teaching- Debi Salazar

I have been teaching for over 20 years in grades Pk3-2nd grade. My experience has been teaching in public schools working with ESL students and in a private school. I was also Curriculum Specialist for a preschool program. I am currently the Dyslexia Therapist and Reading Specialist in a private school, and I’m a tutor for the primary grades. I have been trained on the Take Flight curriculum, Multisensory teaching, and Orton Gillingham approach.

I believe students need multiple experiences in learning. I incorporate many hands on activities and play throughout the day for increased engagement. It’s important to me to make learning fun and help each child feel successful.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business. My certification is in Elementary Education Pk-6th. I am also certified to teach ESL.
