I have two science degrees which I used to teach science for 2 years. I also have experience teaching 2 years of 5th grade math, which I love!
In science, I typically aim for engaging, fun activities with high rigor that hold my students to high expectations, while letting them gain valuable hands on experience. In math, my approach is more routine and controlled, so students know what to expect each day when they come into math class. In time, routines become second nature and we can start to explore more engaging activities such as math centers and fluency games to help reinforce and practice previous knowledge!
