As a 30 year veteran science teacher, I've loved developing hands-on, engaging activities for my students. For 3 years, I served as the model science classroom for all middle & high schools in the county and have also been a beginning teacher mentor for 20+ years. I earned National Board Certification in Biology in 2002 and renewed in 2012.
My goal each day is to have work that is challenging, yet rewarding, and makes my students excited about returning. Through years of teaching and reflection, I have fine tuned plans that keep students engaged, excited about coming to class, and that grow lifetime learners. We use small group inquiry activities that demand collaboration, problem solving, and risk taking.
