I am an active school IT (Technology) teacher. I became an IT teacher in 2018, right after I graduated my bachelor's degree in "Computer science" and my post-graduate degree in "Teaching Informatics and Information technology". I tried working as a programmer but it was just not for me. I prefer to teach programming. I led a "Graphic design" club in 2018 where I was teaching the students how to use Adobe Photoshop. I have been leading a Robotics club since 2018 at the school where I work. We use Sphero robots and this has become one of my biggest passions. I started teaching Scratch to younger students in 2019 after I got a special degree for it. I just love teaching and I believe I have found the profession that makes me feel happy and satisfied!
I have been trying different teaching styles ever since I was a first day teacher. What I found is working for me and my students is to give as much practical activities and advice as possible. IT is something that needs practice, much more practice than it needs theoretical knowledge, at school at least. I give the students many games. I try to make the whole learning process very fun and entertaining. I keep asking the students for feedback and for me it is important that they enter my computer lab with joy and happiness, eager to see my next lesson and topic.
I have been writing articles every now and then for a technology magazine called "Bulgarian science" since 2019. I have also published some science articles in collaboration with one of my teachers at the university where I graduated my bachelor's degree. The last one was about a study I made on the impact of a small computer museum in the computer lab where I teach. The results were amazing! The students really enjoyed seeing technology that is more than 40 years old, like floppy disks, mice with track balls, "Pravets" computers etc. The main result was that the students wanted to know more about the hardware part and they were generally more interested in my subject.

I started programming when I was around 10, without even knowing what programming was. I had a forum about a German rock band. One day I wanted to change the background color of the forum so I opened the settings and I saw many lines of unknown text. Later I understood that was HTML. I remember just seeing the tag "background-color: white". I changed "white" to "blue" and it was like magic happened in my eyes. I continued modifying stuff that was obvious like pictures, fonts, colors. Some years later, when I went to high school to study "System programming" I understood I was actually programming without even knowing what that was. It turned out that I knew half of the whole HTML programming language without ever studying it. I remember being so fascinated and excited! Ever since that moment, I knew I wanted Technology in my life.
