I started teaching in 2013 in Richardson, TX. I've taught second and third grade, and fifth grade. I have experience teaching students from all different walks of life, and I believe (and have seen) that all students can be successful no matter their background or home life.
I strive to be an inclusive, culturally-responsive teacher. Students should feel safe and comfortable being who they are when they are in my classroom. I teach using the discovery method where students are in charge of their own learning and I act as a facilitator of the information. I give the students the concept and they come up with strategies to find a solution. I believe that teaching this way gives students ownership of their own learning and creates authentic learning experiences.
