I have ten years of teaching experience, all in 1st and 2nd grade. I am currently teaching 1st grade, which is my grade of preference! I truly love teaching young children and feel fortunate to be able to follow my passions through my career.
I use a balanced literacy workshop approach in both reading and writing. In math, I facilitate a guided math structure. My management style and classroom systems foster a positive community and student independence.
I was recently received the Bonnie Campbell Hill Literacy Leader Award for Washington State for 2017-2018. I am honored to have received this award and to have been selected to carry on the legacy of such a great leader in the area of literacy.
I have a B.A.degree in Elementary Education and a B.S. degree in Spanish Language and Literature. I also earned my M.S. degree in K-6 Reading and Literacy.
