I originally majored in Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design. After a short stint as a stay-at-home mom, I completed an alternative certification program and started teaching at my own children's school. I spent three years teaching Kindergarten and have started my fourth year in 3rd grade.
I firmly believe elementary school should be enjoyable for teachers and students. I train my students to work hard and play hard. Nothing compels me to come home and spend half the night designing a new product, like a boring day in 3B. It is amazing what a group of happy children are able to learn and accomplish. We may be the loudest and messiest classroom in the school, but my students love coming to school.
One of my students made me a bracelet out of grass and a leaf last week. It felt like a major award.
