TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for 8 years! It is amazing how time flies by so quickly! I have my degree in Multiple Subjects with an emphasis in science. I have been a member of our district's Instructional Leadership team for the past 5 years. I am the lead teacher for my 5th grade team and have trained student teachers in the classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My focus has been on: Common Core Math Discourse Close Reading Inquiry Based Projects

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated for the National Science Teacher of the Year last year. I have been a member of our district's 75% gainer group for the past 4 years- meaning 75% or more of my students are proficient or advanced on our state assessments.

I have a deep science background. I graduated from San Diego State University with Magna Cum Laude Honors. I am currently getting my master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Science.
