Healthy Heart Challenge
This is a very versatile activity that could be used in many different settings. Students are challenged to calculate how many times their heart beats in 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day and 1 year!~ I use it for Valentine's Day Math in upper elementary because of the heart theme. It gives my students a chance to run and explore large numbers (both of which they love!)~ Biology/Anatomy Lab when learning about the Circulatory System~ Health Class Activity - teaches about pulse rate~ P.E.
