This assignment is great when researching South America! If you have a TrueFlix subscription, this assignment follows along with the book and allows students to understand what they're reading. It is broken down into days so that each day, the students are required to read a few pages and answer a few questions. This could be used for small reading groups with nonfiction text.

Literature Circles- Fairy and Folk tales from around the world
This is a unit designed to go with stories from around the world. The exact books have not been selected so that the teacher can choose from what is available at their school and at their students' level. There are many activity ideas and graphic organizers designed to be used with the unit. I actually gave this to my teacher assistants to do with groups of students during guided reading. My students enjoyed the stories and the activities that went with it.

Geography - "Bethlehem" article and essay rubric
Part 1 - Students will read the investigative article describing the religious separation in the holy city of Bethlehem. Similar to Jerusalem, this city is historically important to Muslims, Christians, and Jews.
