Introduction To Integers - Music Video - Math Song
"Don't Be Negative" is a 4 minute, karaoke style video, that students can sing along with.
I wrote it as an introduction to the concept of integers. I use it with my 6th graders as a "springboard" to a discussion about integers and their applications. The song uses elevation to show negative and positive integers. It also covers what numbers make up the set of integers. It does not go into any of the integer operations.

The Coordinate Grid Song
Through the use of this song and the associated hand motions, your kids will be able to identify the quadrants and axes. Also included in the song, intercepts, how to graph on the plane- by starting at the origin. Sung to the tune of "Do Your Ears Hang Low", it makes for a nice brain break too! Included in the download- song lyrics for the kids, a video of my students doing the hand motions, an audio file of the song, and directions for the hand motions. Enjoy!
The Fraction to Decimal Song
Do your kids divide the denominator by the numerator when converting fractions do decimals? Mine did and this song was born. To the tune of John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt- kids love to sing the final verse soft then loud. There are no movements other than getting your kids up to sing with this song, but the chorus will be a lifesaver when it comes to the final exam! Enjoy.
