Students will use the internet to research their favorite fast food meal and record the calories, carbohydrates, sodium and sugar of each item. They will then create a healthier meal at the same favorite fast food restaurant. Once the research is completed, students will use the numbers they've gathered to create a comparison poster of healthy vs unhealthy options at that restaurant.

Six Essential Nutrient Poster
This is a great project that introduces the basic function of each essential nutrient and what foods are a good source of that nutrient. This project can take 1-2 class periods depending on how the students find the information (notes, powerpoint, textbook, research, etc.).
