Tracing Arguments in Ads
Task: Examine the images and texts in each advertisement very closely. Writers and advertisers whose purpose is to persuade will try to be very convincing so you will agree and take action. Look for a convincing argument by identifying claims, logical reasons, and factual or logical evidence. It *does not* include the Communication and Vocabulary standards.I use this product in my own classroom by printing the papers out, laminating them, and posting them on my board. This lets students, administrators, and other stakeholders know what standard we are focusing on. I used to write the standards out on the board, and this has saved me a ton of time!
