Cognates lesson plan: give newcomers confidence!
This lesson was used with a bilingual class of Spanish speakers. Their content areas were taught in Spanish, and I was their sole English teacher. Most of them were reluctant to learn English, so I tried to engage them with interesting and fun lessons.
