I have been teaching in a Pennsylvania juvenile detention center for 10+ years. I teach students with a wide array of abilities and leaning styles. But for the most part, I try and inspire them to pursue their education and dreams through actively taking part in the classroom.
I believe that learning should be relevant, hands-on, and reflective in nature. Students should be challenged academically and should be able to succeed at the same time. "IDK" is not acceptable in my classroom. Effort goes a long way!
