I have taught in both private and public sectors of Education for the past nine years. I have served numerous roles over those years including mentoring new teachers and grooming teachers to be. Experience: Lutheran South Academy (2003-2009) Taught 6th, 7th, 8th grade Social Studies [Geography, TX History, US History]; Melillo Middle School (2009-2010) Taught 6th grade Geography; Dobie High School (2010-Present) Have taught or am Teaching, Geography, World History, US History, Government and I am currently teaching in the Summit Learning method (which we call Connect in our district).
My teaching style is laid back and student-centered. I believe in placing the responsibility of learning on the student. As a history teacher I do enjoy giving a good lecture, from time to time. I love using stories, primary sources and hands on material to grab students' attention to assist them in understand the past.
