TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Anna Geiger. I taught for eight years and earned an MEd. before staying home to raise my children. I taught in multi-age classrooms through fifth grade, but my greatest experience was in first and second. In 2013 I began my education website, The Measured Mom. A few years ago I began offering a membership for Prek-3rd grade educators called The Measured Mom Plus.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I was a balanced literacy educator until around 2019, when I learned about the science of reading. I continue to study the research and strive to make resources that are science of reading based. I have a weekly structured literacy podcast called Triple R Teaching (reflect, refine, recharge).

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my Bachelor's in Education in 1999. In 2005 I earned my Master's in Education. In 2022 I was Orton-Gillingham certified, and later that same year I received my Science of Reading graduate certificate from Mount St. Joseph University.
