I'm celebrating my 30th year of teaching. I've always enjoyed changing grades/subjects to keep my own learning growing. I've been using my camera to create items for my classroom for over 20 years. The camera has changed many times and the creative ways to use it has expanded as well. I feel that teachers should always share. You do not need to sit and struggle alone. I have been helped by others to learn what I know, and I'd love to pass that information along to others.
I love hands on activities for my students, well-organized office materials, and editable creative lesson materials at an affordable price. Virtual education is easily adapted for the brick and mortar classroom, so please take a look at the dynamic resources available with vibrant photographs. If you don't see something you want in my store, just let me know. I may have it and just haven't posted it yet. I will be happy to make whatever you need. Also, after all of these years teaching Kindergarteners to read, I have developed my own books. They are completely digital and/or printable. Students can use the books to learn how to use picture cues, letter cues, and patterned words to understand the process of reading VERY QUICKLY. These books work well with the students who know about reading, and even more so for those who were not quite ready for Kindergarten. They help to put it all together.
In the past: Teacher of the Year at my school Winner of School District Innovation in Education Award National Board Certified Teacher First Place Winner - Blackboard International Blog Competition for Innovation in Course Creation I have received honors in state organizations. Published in The Mailbox Magazine. Published in Reminisce Magazine Beta Mu Sorority Member . . . and most importantly - I'm honored to be a teacher and mom.
My greatest educational experiences come from my students, school, family, and friends. No coursework is worth mentioning because it pales in comparison to the experiences of the real world.
I am a veteran teacher who loves to take pictures and share ideas! I also feel teachers spend too much of their own money on their classroom. Digital pictures are expensive, or under copyright constraints. My hope is to provide an affordable way for all teachers - including the virtual teachers out there - to include real photographs in whatever project they wish to design for their classroom. If you are a business, please send an e-mail with a request for business use. I will be happy to help you. If you would like a certain "theme" for your classroom, please let me know. I will look to see if I have any pictures which would apply. My favorite place to take pictures is the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and Mary's Garden.
