I have been teaching for over 25 years. The majority of those years have been spent teaching third grade in the same school I attended as a child. During those 25 years, I have amassed an abundance of knowledge as well as inspiration which I apply daily to my classroom teachings. Throughout the years, I have held various positions as well as attended numerous trainings including but not limited to the following: Master Teacher; District Mentor Teacher, developed curriculum for Learning Centers and trained WSD teachers in their use; BTSA Support Provider; Math Mania Coach and proctor at district competitions; District Library Committee, aligned library resources with texts and standards; SOAR Reading and Project Read Teacher; Conflict Manager Teacher/Student Trainer, provided training for WSD teachers at District workshops as well as staff development; English Language Class Teacher for Parents/Students; UCI Reading/Writing Program participant, provided staff training on word study and other aspects of program; Differentiated Instruction Training/ Focused Approach Training; GATE Task Force Team; Arts Advantage Trained; GLAD Trained.
I instill hope, inspire confidence, and provide for opportunities that my students may not otherwise encounter. I put my heart and soul into the profession, devoting much of my time and energy to the cause of educating children. I never lower my standards to meet the perceived expectations of my students yet raise their expectations to meet my standards.
