TEACHING EXPERIENCE

27 years of experience teaching grades 9 - 12. 24 years of experience teaching Honors, AP, and IB courses.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach writing with lots of demonstrations, samples, and models. I teach literature using a method that is as Socratic as I can make it, with lots of small-group discussions sparked by questions I ask but continued by questions the students ask. I lecture only when it's required to efficiently present background information.
