TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a 5th grade team leader with a M.A. in Elementary Education. I am starting my 14th year and have a variety of experience in upper grade levels ranging from third grade team leader, middle school (6th grade), fourth grade, and fifth grade. I started teaching in 1994, taught four years and then stayed home to be mommy, I returned to teaching nine years ago.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I employ a variety of methods and strategies to meet my student's needs. Children thrive in an environment with set routines, high expectations, acceptance, and energy. My teaching style has ingredients from whole brain teaching, higher thinking skills with Bloom's, multiple intelligence ideas, technology integration, reading ideas from "The Book Whisperer" and some old school common sense ideas.
