I have been teaching for 20 years in Long Island, New York. I began teaching in 4th grade (14 years) and transitioned to 5th grade (6 years). Over the many years of experience I would like to think I found optimal ways for students to learn and respond to material. One thing I pride myself in is making content that is simple and useful for teachers and engaging for kids to learn from. The general layout and look is important to have too. I like to include nice graphics and have space for answering questions. I think students appreciate simple things like that.
Though I have taught other grades and currently teach 5th, I would like to say I am not one type of teacher with one style. I think we, as teachers, are a mixed pot of ingredients! We get new students every year, we teach, we assess, and we change our style to one that works for our class. The point is we know what works for our children and we figure out our style from there.

I received a Dual Bachelors in Elementary Education and Speech Communications & Rhetorical Studies. I then went for my Masters in Educational Technology.
When deciding to create a TpT store name, it was mentioned that your brand should be about you. Well, I love to participate in Spartan Races and Tough Mudders. So I combined my educational world with my recreational, athletic one. After some thought the result was "The Educated Spartan." :-)
