Students love the new Great Gatsby movie (2013) not only because Leonardo diCaprio, but because the soundtrack is novel and wonderful and unique and modern. Given that it is so easy to grab the students in with the modern tunes, comparing the themes and issues with those lyrics along with the primary sources of songs of that time have turned out to be a fun lesson using evidence from the text as a secret bonus.
