Students research a famous mathematician. This would be excellent for Black History Month or Hispanic Heritage Month by requiring students to research a mathematician of that race. Students then write interview questions and answer them as the mathematician would. Finally, students write an article for their local paper. This is a step you could remove depending on the time frame for the project.
