This activity is great for use during a lesson introducing fractions. The chart can help students understand where fractions come from, in addition to seeing the candies they are using to make the fractions. I have used this resource as a whole-group lesson, or in a center once students are able to write fractions independently. I usually use the small snack-size M&Ms for this activity. :) If you prefer using a candy rather than chocolate, check out my Skittles fraction activity!
