TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over ten years of a experience as a middle school teacher. I have taught grades 6, 7, and 8 in both Science and English/Language Arts. I also taught high school Physical Science for three years. In addition, I have seven years of experience as an elementary school librarian. My primary focus is creating exceptional story time experiences for Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I run a student centered, project based classroom. I know kids learn best when they are actively involved in their education. From simple one-period labs to multi-day inquiry projects I want my students out of their seats doing science. I hold the same philosophy in my English classes. I like to create and use lessons that inspire conversation and critical reading and thinking skills in my students. I specialize in creating novel unit that emphasize nonfiction reading skills and units that blend nonfiction content into fiction novels.
